I say that only because all these books were considered "MUST READING" by those who embraced the lifestyle.. :p

Well....just did a brief seach about Timothy Leary and see that he died at home in Beverly Hills, BUT...I am absolutely certain that I recall something about him, or perhaps his wife, being lost in a desert somewhere. I also discovered that Wynona Rider is his godchild. That explains quite a bit.

Fortunately for me I was coming of age at the tail end of the era then married very young. After growing up in Jersey City I've lost track of the back in the day friends who've died from either ODs or AIDS (more of them than I can count - needle and the damage done).

It was all fun while I indulged in moderate-excess and I'm glad I survived it relatively intact.

I did acid about a dozen times and shrooms twice in the late 60's through the early 70's. It was OK but usually a couple of hours into whatever trip I was taking I was ready to be down. Of course the drugs had other ideas!

I'm too paranoid for that stuff! I (surprisingly) remember a night in college during the time I was dating a roadie for a local band and cocktail waitressing. I had a night off and went out back of the club with the guys to . The roadie boyfriend kept asking me if I was sure I was up to it and telling me it was really good stuff.

Well, the band members were wearing really bright colored shirts, and after seeing brightly colored sqaures float all over the club for about oh, I have no idea how long, I guess up to the point where I could feel the floor under my feet, I went up to the roof and sat in the freezing cold just trying to get my head straight.

I was told I had enjoyed (not) black hash. I'd love to hear what experts around here think. I always wondered but never umm, furthered my education on the subject.

Hash is good, but hardly hallucinagenic....hash is just pot in it's concentrated form.

Ahh...the good ole days.
I had a love/hate relationship with LSD. I played with it for about 4 years. Fifty percent of the time it was great and 50 percent of the time I was wondering if I was going to be stuck in that mode forever.

Mushrooms. Yeah baby. I'd still do them under the right circumstances.

Peyote. The greatest high I've ever experienced. I was invited to a "service" where upon a group of about twenty ground up the buttons into a powder, mixed with juice and drank. The most disgusting elixir I've ever tasted. But....wow! 18 hours of ever changing bliss. But just once because I don't think I'd ever be able to recreate that experience.

I'd be a terrible spokesperson for the Anti-Drug Campaign.

Just Say Maybe

I knew this thread would bring back some good and maybe some not so good memories You all know Albert Einstien used LSD for experiments and documented his personal experiences under the influence? I was one of those short time experimenters myself(1980- 1984) maybe a half dozen times. Never had a bad trip though, so I guess it was a good time to quit. How many people seen Pink Floyd The Wall under the influence??
