Allegro Playacar

I have the chance to stay here next month; last year it had no beach--only sandbags! How is the beach now?

I am interested in this as well. I stupidly or not bought a vacation share through these people the first year I went to Playa (guess I was taken). I got a good deal but there were a few "hidden" things that I wasn't aware of. Anyway, I plan on taking my daughter down later in the year, maybe October and would like to know the condition as well.

Thanks!

Allegro Playacar vacation share

We have stayed at Allegro Playacar for the last four years, and also stupidly bought into the vacation club. We love this resort, however, I do not recommend buying time shares. We found the resorts to be very limited mostly due to the hurricane damages, but have a deadline for this year to use the plan. I am scheduled to be there on April 29, 2006 and also would like to know how they are progressing on the property. We are booked for the Jr. Suites which I understand were destroyed.

I wanted to go there this year as well. But we are traveling with a group and needed a lot more rooms then they would give us....Well, we could book them 30 days ahead of time but since it was bonus time we were not guaranteed rooms. Yeah right....This is one of the things they failed to mention.

I went in with a friend and we talked them down to almost nothing and then split it. Which worked out nice. It will eventually pay for itself. I plan on returning later in the year, as we are staying in another resort when we go, April 28th. So, if we don't hear anything by the time you go, I would love to hear your report.
