Comida Corrida, Tamales etc...

For some reason I was unable to start a new thread on the Changarros Y mas forum section, but here is fine. Restaurants come and go and I was wondering where the best places to catch commida might be now. As well where one could get a great tamale. Looking for off the beaten path ideas. Cheap and tasty... I rarely eat at the 5th ave spots myself. Where are the best tacos on the cheap side. I constantly went to 'tacos bill' over the the last few years and it's as well still around. They had great tortas too... oh and salbutes mmm

That's because only moderators can start threads in the Changarros y mas forum. I've moved it over here for you. In the future, you can either send a pm to one of the moderators requesting that a new thread be started for a topic or simply post on the general forum like you did and we'll move it over.

EDIT: Also using the "search this forum" tool here on the Changarros y mas forum... I found 2 previous threads on this same topic:
Comida Corrida and Other Edibles started by Tinabean.
Comida corrida started by James.

tamales

check out the tamales in the little grocery store right on 5th in the evenings. somewhere between juarez and 15th. on the west side. It also has pastry's. by the door. They are the best. They sell them out of a big pot (fresh). Also, anyone know the statis on Danada's . Right around the corner from the bus station. Did have 2 owners (man and lady) she was a wonderful cook and person. Thought she left. But hoping she came back as part owner again.?????

I stopped in there last night to buy a Ladatel card and I saw that big pot. I was tempted to buy one or two for dinner. I'll have to check it out.

Tamales, corn husk wrapped in one bucket, banana leaf wrapped in the other. on 30th Ave across from Mega, the 1st of Dec, 2006.

Cake shop on 34th street between 20th Ave & 25th Ave. $10p, banana leaf wrapped, chicken, very good.
