What was up with them letting that last psycho through?

I think that was Randy and Paula just getting a jab in at Simon on that one.

My favourite ... the guy who came dressed like the Statue of Liberty and only made it through 2 words before Simon said no. The look on his face was priceless. He probably still dosen't know what went wrong. Perhaps Simon was just fed up with the people how are auditioning as a joke. I would be.

He had no clue as to why he was rejected. I started laughing because there he was in his costume just standing there with that look on his face.

Her name is Brooke...she is from Eastview. I'll send you her last name, I'm feel funny putting it out here until she's on. I don't know what night she is on...she auditioned in the west. She has had lots of experience in plays and musicals as well as pagents. She has co-anchored on the school tv broadcasts with my daughter. Nice girl.

And how about those twin boys?

I think the first set was more dynamic, but the 16-year-olds had a lot of poise for kids that age. And their singing didn't feel completely rehearsed.

I couldn't believe there weren't more good contestants from Chi-town. Where were all the blues singers, for chrissakes?

That 16 year that sang Frank Sinatra blew me away, but I almost like the singing he and his friend was doing in the car better than his tryout.

The young woman with the fake tan and heavy make-up was something else!!! She is so convinced that she is a great singer. I can't understand why Randy and Paula chose the guy who kept jumping around? He drove me nuts because of the way he kept rolling his eyes into the back of his head.
I didn't understand that one either but rest assured, he won't be around a second time!

The look on SIMON'S face when Paula said yes to "crazy Dave" or whatever they were calling him was great! He was stunned... and then he basically asked "Have you two lost your minds?"

They shouldn't do that, in my opinion... it gives kids like that false hope and there were a couple who were more talented that they DIDN'T let through.

I can deal with most of Simon's comments regarding singing ability, but I hate when he makes comments about people's looks, like being overweight. (i.e. "Forget her being like Frenchy, she was France" and "Are we going to have a bigger stage this year?")

I think my favorite was the "police officer" who kept singing the same two lines of "I Shot The Sheriff" over and over and over and over and......

I missed the car singing, just saw the audition. I love the crooners, as apparently does Simon... problem is, they get into the "real deal" of the show and get criticized for too much crooning. If you want a Pop star, then push the Pop singers... don't tell a guy you like his unique crooning style and then make critical comments weeks later about him being a crooner. Duh.

The kid sounded too much like Frankie -- honestly, I don't think he deserved to move on. If I had been a judge, I would have made him sing the song in his own voice -- let's see if he had learned anything about phrasing and delivery.

I did like that other 17 year old kid who also went the croon route. Paula had mighty hungry eyes watching him.

I thought that too. I liked the more spontaneous sound of the song in the car with his friends. He reminded me a little of that red-headed kid John something from last season who did the Frank Sinatra tunes. This kids seems a little mroe talented though.

Yes, exactly...That's the thing I can't stand about the show. They pick people who they think are individuals or project something special, but then knock them down when they can't sing like a pop singer. (I still love watching the show though, and it is really thrilling when someone like Bo Bice commands the stage like he did when he sang.)

What a crazy group out of Denver. That 16 year old girl was very good. That cowboy kid's voice was a surprise. It wasn't great compared to some (I agreed with him getting voice lessons to bring out his potential) but the way the voice sounded was surprising coming out of little Opie's body. "I only sung to turkeys before."
