Eating/drinking at another resort when I'm not on their inclusive plan
I'm staying at the new RIU Maya Palace in Playacar and it's all inclusive, so I will probably spend 80 percent of my eating time at their Restaurant or other Riu restaurants (Lupita, Tequila, Palace, etc.). But if I'd like to grab lunch at Ioberostar or Occidental, etc. and these too are all inclusive resorts, do they have special lunch rates or dinner rates for people who aren't staying at their resor? Also, if I wanted to grab a cocktail in a different hotel lounge, again, can I just pay for the cocktail?? Also, does anyone know where the new RIU Palace Maya resort is located?? It doesn't show up on any map. Maybe someone can tell me what it's next to, ie the Occidental Allegro, or the RIU Palace (the old one). Did they tear down some older hotel to make the new RIU Palace Maya Rievera??
Thanksl |

The new Riu Palace Riviera Maya is between the Viva Azteca and Reef Playacar. It's six resorts north (towards town) from the Riu Palace Mexico. If you look at the logcogringo map it's all jungle.
I'm with Babs, doubt you'd be able to get onto the IB's resort for a meal but guess you could always ask. They may have day rates. The Riu Palace's day rate is US$100 per person, I know because I brought someone in and they had lunch and dinner, plus drinks of course. |

The folks above are correct, you can't use the facilities of any other resort if you are not staying there. All resorts will sell you a "day pass" that will allow you to use the facilities for the day, but won't let you just come in and have one meal. The cost of day passes vary from place to place so you'd have to e mail ahead and ask. You also can't use any of the bars or lounges in another resort as they do not take money - they are for the exclusive use of the guests staying there. If you purchase a day pass, you would be able to eat and drink, use the pools, beach, etc. Otherwise, you won't be allowed on the grounds.
