Transport to airport question

We dont' want to take a bus from PDC to airport. Can anyone tell me how much a taxi would cost? We will be staying at Fusion (downtown). Would it be more than $50? Also, can we get a taxi easily outside our hotel or should we call for one? Is it common and safe to do this? Thanks.

Last year from the Fusion we paid $35US. Very safe. No need to call for one. We caught one at the corner of calle 6 and Fifth Ave (one block from the hotel)

Since we usually have an early flight out we have our hotel arrange for an early taxi. Its always been about $35.

Just in case you've never taken the Bus it's actually a lot nicer than what you get in the states. There's even a movie playing the whole way.

I have to agree. I took the bus to and from the airport for the first time this trip and it was great. Very roomy and comfortable. Movie playing, tho you don't get to see the entire movie as it only takes 50 minutes to get either way. For $7. it really does seem to be the best way to go.

One more who votes for the bus. Wife was leary the first trip on it, now we never take cab. You might save a few minutes in a cab, but the bus is very comfortable and provides the best a/c south of Texas.

Does anyone know if there is room in the luggage compartment on the bus for a large surfboard size bag?? Also, what about finding a taxi big enought to haul it from the bus station in PDC to our hotel?? Are there minivan taxis around?... that might work.

The luggage compartments on the bus are large enough for that size of a bag. They are the standard size buses..ie: greyhound.

That is what I thought but I want to make sure before we lug it all the way down there. It still might be a problem getting it to the hotel from the bus station if I can't find a taxi big enough but it is good to know about the bus.

Thank you!
