Hotel Eclipse - New Deluxe Apartments

Their website indicates that these are 'new addition' rooms. Has anyone stayed in these yet? Just wanted to know your thoughts on space. I'm coming down with 2 of my friends and we are staying in one room.

Because of email delays I now have reservations at 2 places, the Hotel Colibri and the Hotel Eclipse. I know I have to cancel somewhere and soon. I'm trying to outweigh the pros and cons of both.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

do a search for hotel eclipse on this forum... my mom is staying there too and started a thread about the hotel that quite a few people responded too. i don't remember reading about deluxe appartments though.

Thanks Brandie for the reply. I did do a search but my question is more specific to the new addition rooms.

The Ecplise is really bad about returning emails.......we still haven't gotten our confirmation yet for Feb. 6th through the 18th......my wife is giving them one more try and then she's going to call them again. We're not coming down without a written confirmation and if they don't come through we'll look elsewhere. We've also got one of the new deluxe apartments reserved. I think!

I emailed them early last week about rooms and then sent them a follow up email at the end of the week after I didn't hear back from them. They did email me yesterday and said they were truly sorry and that they were experiencing internet problems. So, if this is really the case, hopefully you'll hear back from them soon.

I'm pretty sure we are going to keep our reservations at the Eclipse, but still would love your feedback when you return. Have a wonderful time!

I also had emailed them last week to ask some questions about amenities and they did email me back on Monday saying they were very sorry it took so long, but they were having internet problems.
They have been taking 2 days for a response each time I email them.

We've been given two excuses....internet problems and too busy to answer emails. As long as we get a confirmation we're sticking with them....I've read mostly positive reviews of the Eclipse and we're looking forward to staying in their new apartments. When we get there we'll post reviews.

Anybody having any luck hearing back from The Eclipse this past week? I emailed them last Monday with my final details and asked for a final confirmation and have not heard a peep. I'm getting nervous.

I received an email from them on Friday.
It just said today the sun is shining, it has been raining for the last few days.
But in all fairness, I emailed them and asked how "cold" it was there.
It took 4 days for a response.
If I were you, I'd email them every day until you hear back. Twice a day if you have the time.
From what I've heard about the Eclipse, it is worth the wait.
I would like to hear their response about the apartments though, so when you do hear, I hope you post it.

When I stayed there almost 2 years ago, their internet was spotty and the computers a bit slow, so Peter is most likely telling the truth about the internet issues. I think they are with Playa wireless.

My wife and I are right across the street at Phantom Paradise until end
of March .Lolabella, I can check with Peter , what do u want me to ask ? It is HOT today 30c and was sunny until 1pm but clouds have moved in. There is
a crew today cleaning up the B/parrot bar area and i'm sure they will be selling
beer soon. Norm

I heard back from Peter (not sure if Snowbuzzard had a hand in it or not) and I'm confirmed! Whee!! I can finally breath a sigh of relief knowing that air, hotel, and transportation has been taken care of!!

Time to start thinking about packing. I swear that this time I WILL NOT OVERPACK! ha! Also have to decide if we are going to do the Fat Cat or the Sea to Cenote tour! Everyone in our group cannot afford to do both, so I'm kind of bummed that we have to make a choice.

I'll be sure to write a trip report on our adventures as well as the Hotel Eclipse when I return!

My wife finally had to send them an email that read "ATTENTION PETER!!!!!!" and we finally got our confirmation this weekend. At least I think we did.....he asked for our credit card number.....the same one we sent them two weeks ago. Oh well.....the price dropped to $115.00 and that includes breakfast so that's a plus.
