Grady's 6 year Playa anniversary at Cpt. Dave's!

Last Saturday, January 28, Cpt. Dave's on the beach had a BBQ/Party honoring Grady, who has just celebrated his 6th anniversary of his move to Playa del Carmen. Grady, Brent Parkin, Carlos Medina Mendoza, and Chris Bolister all took the stage and a good time was had by all. For some reason, these pictures turned out kinda crappy; possibly from the DT's I got from my Beer Bucket experience the night before.

It rained, but we did get a nice rainbow:

This was a very fun event! Ok the rain put a bit of a damper (excuse the pun) on things but the entertainment featured Grady, Chris, Linc, Sharky and Cenote Sam to name just a few!

A fair amount of money was raised to purchase a new amp for Grady which was great, and will hopefully ensure this Playa tradition (Grady!) will be heard around the town for a long time to come.

However the bar is now renamed Bad Boys and not Capt Daves following extensive remodelling, new palapa etc after our hurricanes of 2005!

Great Pics! We were in Playa last year and Carlos was playing in the bar where we chose to party...met his daughter, Nina---GOOD TIME!! Danced on the bar, drank lots of Sol, a few Tequila shots...we will be back soon!

So that's what Carlos has been doing since the last time I saw him! We've got some great stories and pictures of Carlos aka "the Riddler" from our trip two years ago. We had some great times jamming on the roof of the Don Emilione.

I'm sorry. I'm afraid I'm going to have to boycott the name change. "Bad Boys"...really, I think not. It will remain Captain Dave's for me and mine.

Now I can't wait to get back to Playa!

How about adding a few of the "usual suspects" in the Capt. Dave's audience occaisionally. I need to see how my friends Fernando, Keith, Craig, Tom, Steve, Mike, Alex, Mayte, Dr. Roy and Cowboy John are doing. (Besides Heather's dental work!)

Has "Bones" returned to Playa?

Bones is alive and well and living in Paamul. We went to see him a few days ago. Everyone else is well. Haven't seen Dr. Roy around in awhile. I'll post some pictures soon. We're hosting a wedding reception at our house next Thursday and ALL the usual suspects will be in attendance. Lots of picture taking opportunities.
