Colon cancer

Just got some shocking news. One of my sisters had surgery last week (no one told me until today), and apparently it's so bad that she's not expected to last more than 6 months.

My father died in July of last year. When it rains, it pours.

We have a brother-in-law who died of colon cancer. I highly recommend hospice services. Highly, highly recommend it. A good hospice experience will totally transform the experience for her family. It will still be a painful loss, but please do look into it.

Peace

Ron

So sorry to hear that. My mom has colon cancer. I found in her case anyway, those 6 month estimates are not always accurate. She is still with us 5 years later. There is always hope. I will keep her in my prayers. And hope that she will investigate all her options and get second, third and even fourth opinions.

So sorry for your troubles. How hard is has to be for your family to deal with this while still recovering from the loss of your dad. Your mom especially must be taking it hard. Sending my prayers and support your way.

Sorry to hear that. We know exactly how you feel. We just found out last week that Charlie's (my husband) mother has colon cancer. She is 75. She's very determined that she is going to beat this. She said she noticed some problems about a year ago but thought all was due to getting old! She starts chemo once a week for 5 weeks then radiation, then they will do surgery. She doesn't have a real good heart so they wanted to do the surgery last and see if they can shrink the cancer first. She had an aneurysm (sp) about 10 years ago or more and survived 2 brain surgeries and 4 months in the hospital so she feels she can survive this too. We hope so.
