Hold on a minute there..... The allegations are against Tocchet and an unnamed entertainer. I'm not so sure Janet even qualifies there. ![]() |

Police would not comment on the scope of the ring, but the Associated Press reported that the ring included bets from Janet Jones, the actress who is the wife of Coyotes coach and minority owner Wayne Gretzky. TSN of Canada said 12 National Hockey League players or people closely associated with NHL clubs, including a team owner, also placed bets. New Jersey officials declined to disclose the names of those who gambled, and a spokesman for the state's Division of Criminal Justice said those who placed bets "have not necessarily broken New Jersey" laws. Profiting from gambling, however, is illegal in New Jersey. So, she is at least "involved". |

Alan Thicke tells a funny story about his kids walking in on a nude Janet Gretzky in the hot tub. Apparently Janet stayed with the Thicke's early in her career.
I guess there are some benefits to being Alan Thicke's kid. |

It's huge news in Canada too. I love hockey and all that goes with it........including seventeen days in a row watching my 7 year old OUTSIDE..........but I can't belive how greedy and STUPID some people can become.
A couple of my friends saw Gretzky on TV last night and while he defended Tocchet and said he was innocent until proven guilty, a good guy and on and on; all he commented on in connection to his wife was.........."You'll have to ask my wife".................mmm, a little touble in paradise perhaps??!! |

any time you have highly paid, highly competitive men with lots of money hanging around--you have trouble! I heard that the NHL collecive bargaining agreement allows legal betting (Las Vegas), but not the illegal type, which it looks like Rick Tocchet financed. Hope The Great One and Mrs. Great One don't tarnish his considerable legacy.

Is there another sport out there that has as much trade activity as the NHL does on trade deadline day?
At last count, there were 32 players that were traded today, and that doesn't include draft picks. My "Refresh" button is wearing out the TSN.CA website looking for the latest trades.(I figured I'd just keep hockey talk on this thread rather than opening a new one.) |
