I'm with you, Quinn! Three more days for us as well. Even though we're staying at an AI, our first stop may be somewhere for me to get my taco fix!

Heading down in a couple of weeks - our second Playa visit and we intend to venture off 5th a bit more... seems that restaurants change or close and many of the comments here are pretty old. We'd welcome some current recommendations!
Thanks!

The only thing constant in Playa is change. You never know what you're gonna get.

We haven't been there a WHOLE lotta times, but the friends we've met, the people we know, the things we've done - they're different EVERY time! It's an amazing feeling...

I believe most if not all the restaurants mentioned in this thread are still open... which is kind of hard to believe. As of mid August of this year, El Pastorcito and El Fogon both on 30th Av were still operational... as was El Sarape on Juarez.

I wouldn't waste a walk south to get to El Serape. We got really lousy service there when we visited in April, and I've heard similar reports since.

I've always enjoyed superb service at El Serape. I usually get one of the tables in the entry way with a good view out onto Juarez. A great people watching spot.

I doubt we'll be there at 3am, but do believe we'll have to try El Serape (among others). So where along Juarez is it? I don't think I saw that specifically in prior posts. And thanks for your comments!
