Super Tortas El 30-30

Had a blast from the past today when I dropped by El 30-30. I hadn't been by in quite a while and ran into Gina, the same girl that sold me tortas from a changarro cart in front of Seguros Social when I lived on the floor of Mom's Hotel back in the nineties, but that's another story. Anyway, these are some pretty good tortas. They make them their own sort of style that borrows some elements from the classic Distrito Federal torta (the different names, the combinations, and the mixing of stuff like milanesa, huevo, jamon, chorizo y queso with the frijoles, cebolla, jitomate y aguacate on the bread) but they use a longer sort of seeded roll that is like a wide sub sandwich roll with the ends chopped off instead of the classic D.F. bolillo.

They don't use a pushcart anymore since their place is on 34th street near 45th Avenue. They deliver if you order three or more tortas, which range in price from 20 up to 38 pesos. Try a Pancho Villa. Milanesa, chorizo y queso. 30 pesos! 803-0071
