here we go #2

The moving truck got here two hours late....well, ok. I'm really prepared! In comes a young man with a heaaaaavy Russian (or something similar) accent and one of our cool Mexican friends with no English. Our conversation was more like point and go, with none of us understanding the other. Doing the paper work would be a two hour dissertation here, so sufice it to say that first they didn't accept a cashier's check (I was told to do this by the mucky mucks back east). Young man calls office (total 9 calls)...check has to be blank, not filled out to movers back east...must go to post office and do again. Ok, go to post office (wondering if anything in my home would be there when I got back), young man calls office again...ok this is fine. They got ready to leave and their total number of boxes didn't match the Menaje. OMG, you know what that means!!!!! Had to make them unload the truck to find missing box. Naturally, it was the last one. Police car shows up, wants to ticket my car, now parked on wrong side of street after mad dash to post office. Couldn't take any more....tears ...cop went away shaking head. I'm now enjoying a HUGE glass of wine and feeling better. Sure hope my things get to Mexico!

Hang in there! I just moved from Texas and any move is a hassle but worth it in the long run! Are you moving to Mexico permanently? I envy you if you are! Although I am so glad to be in Wisconsin again it's going to be hard to get me out of this state for awhile. Keep us posted on how things go. I'll be thinking about you and praying that it all goes well and soon you can relax!

Just scares the tar out of me, Mikey, if it was like this on this end, what do you suppose it will be like with immigration in Mexico? The guy only wanted to take one copy of the menaje.....ha-ha I made him take three, knowing how that works.
