Coolers on beach
I searched about coolers on the beach being allowed.....Sorry if this is in a post somewhere but in the posts that came up, all I read about was thongs and topless......
Are you allowed to take your own cooler to the beach? I'm not talking a big one.....a smaller collapsible one.......... |

Sure you can take them to the beach. You'll see lots of them on Sundays when the locals and their families go...tons of food and drink. Never seen any problems, but I woudn't take alcohol to a place like Mamitas and use their chairs etc...may be frowned upon.

Last year they did have a sign at Mamitas that said "No Coolers" But alot of people had them. We took a small one with water and a few beers. We paid for our chairs and bought food and drinks from them and they never said anything about it. On sundays the locals come down with huge coolers.

What did you pay for the chairs? What is the cost for the beds? I can't seem to find an answer in the search :p

We used a cooler all the time at Playa Tukan . Never had a problem. We paid for our chairs and palapas . We also bought food and drink on top of that. Just helps subsidize the pesos blow.

We had tickets from our hotel to get the chairs and umbrellas so not sure how much they actually cost but I'm sure not more than a couple bucks per day.
The beds rent for $800 pesos a day ($80 US dollars) Not bad if you have a group that wants to split the costs. I still think the beds on the beach are a little wierd. Couldn't quite get used to them. But, you have to keep your eyes open to new experiences everyday, right?

I had a free pass for the chairs from Luna Blue. We brought coolers every day filled with ice, vodka, bloody mary mix and diet tonic with limes. Also had chip, cheese and meat, forgot the rum and diet coke. Chairs cost $2.00/day. Also brought 2 floating mattresses and a floating fly fishing rig. It's alot of work carrying all that stuff to the beach. Not complaining one bit. We also ordered stuff from the staff at Mamitas.
