How many days a week....

OK, I looked in the 'search' first, but no help....how many days a week are cruise ships in PDC, and on what day(s) of the week are they there? Planning our stay, thinking that may be a good day to hit the out-of-the-way beach bars...Thanks for any info!!!

Dunno, but yesterday (Wed) there were two cruise ships anchored near (we thought too near for the reef) the north pier and passengers were getting tendered in by UltraMar. I think Wed is a big day for cruise ships, because I could also see four docked at the piers in Cozumel.

I wouldn't worry too much about beach clubs being crowded. Playa Tukan and Mamita's had regular-sized crowds that morning. From what I've seen, the passengers walk along 5th and then head back to the ship, leaving precious little money behind.

cruisecal.com

When you enter the main page, look to the left and click on ports. You will see Playa listed. Enter the date and your set!

It appears that Tuesdays & Thursdays are typical for the time period we will be there, end of June. But Cozumel get's them almost daily.

Ok I looked again to see how many ships will be in Both PDC and Cozumel while I'm there. So PDC will have a ship on Tue Wed Thur and Sat of both weeks. Cozumel will have 2-4 ships every day I am there except Sun the 23rd of April. I'm vacationing 4/16-4/28.

Does PDC get much traffic from the cruise ships docked in Cozumel?

It looks like the only cruise line that will dock in PDC is Carnival, but the whole gammet of lines will dock in Cozumel.

Yes that is an interesting site. (Despite some bad programming)
…and they even have a web cam link to a beach in Playa.

But don’t forget that the Calica (limestone quarry) dock is not in Playa. And so cruise ship passengers will have to choose Playa as their activity and come to Playa using ground transportation.

I suspect that PdC will get more traffic from the cruise ships docked in Cozumel, and that is not that much traffic.
