My bf has a really nice myspace and im redoing a few things about it to make it even better. I've been looking around for a *preferably* black and white beach style comment box for him to have on his page. His background is a black and white pic of a wave and thats sort of the theme he has going on. Anything you can find will be appreciated. =]

confrontations at Porto Real over beach access

I picked up a copy of El Quintanarroense this morning and the lead article was on disputes over access to the beach in front of Porto Real post restoration. My Spanish is asi, asi, but I got the gist of the article, which is that there have been threats and arguments over beach access by people not staying at the hotel. Perhaps someone who reads Spanish better than I can amplify the issue if they read the same article or know something about the disputes in question.

According to channel 10 news, the dispute if mainly between the fishermen union and Porto Real, the union claims that Porto Real paid some extra money to the company to pour extra sand and prevent them from putting their boats on the water next to their hotel as they had them before

The claim is also that the zofemat allows only for 20 meters of beach concession and the GPR was taking more than this saying that they got a verbal permission.

Why is that not surprising....

Great idea, let's make Playa as LITTLE like any other Mexican town in all respects, and more like Miami.

The Fishermen

Maybe this equipment is still sitting here for a reason. You can't blame the fishermen, they been using that beach area to make a living for a lot longer then that hotel has been there. IMHO, that hotel should have NEVER built out there like that, it sould have been set back even with the older hotels.

This is from 1994, before the hotel
