Beach Photos

Will be staying at Playa Maya 01-29-13 to 02-12-13 and have heard the beach isn't what it was last Feb. Any one have any recent photos to share?

Haven't taken any recently but may be able to get some. I can tell you that we had 3 rows of beach chairs plus a few people on lying on the sand and room in front of them for passersby most of this past week. Not sure what the situation was when you saw it last February. (My memory is not that good. )

Yep — better!

At least if you are focused on the area for beach loungers and getting rid of that cliff.

Wasn't like that all last February, either, though. Things can change quickly and go back and forth. In the day or two just following Christmas, a big chunk of beach was battered and washed away and that cliff formation came into being a bit to the north of us, right at the end of 8th St, affecting the properties on either side. A week later, however, in the day or two following New Year's, that was all back and we had more beach than the previous week, as well.

Noticed last night that there is no beach at Fusion. None. Almost the same at the end of Calle 4.

Can anybody provide any pictures of the beach at Fusion? I can't believe there is nothing at all left. Thanks.

Imagine no beach. There is no beach to photograph. That was last night. Things change.

So Fusion didn't even have tables out where patrons typically eat and drink leading up to the stage where the band plays?

No. The area outside with the tables is there. The water was lapping up to that point. But no beach for loungers.

Ok. Thanks Babaloo. Pretty crazy, but I've heard that is about how it was years ago. Amazing how things have changed in just a couple years.
