Apasiando closing

Say one of the last performances at Apasiando Thursday night. Stayed until closing and chatted with the owner who is closing the place this week after 11 years. It was a very sad evening. I will follow him on his website. He is going to try it again someplace in the world. Might even buy one of his CDs.

That's too bad. It was a nice place to go with music, and hang out overlooking 5th.

Yep, walked by it tonight, and it's definitely not in operation. However, there was a sign posted out front indicating somebody is hiring wait staff, cooks and bartenders. Go figure. I guess they don't even wait until the body is cold before somebody else is planning to open up again.

We had a great meal at Apasiando in July. They had the best flambeed shrimp I had in Playa. It's a shame it's closing.

We there about three weeks ago and the owner sat down with us too for awhile before dinner. He was telling us about the upcoming demise of the place. Sad to see it go. He said that management problems with government, employees, etc. were getting to be too much. Interesting fellow and he sure can play the sax! At least we were happy to hit it one last time.

BTW, what is his website?

Major BUMMER. We used to love people watching from that spot, and their mojitos were quite tasty.
