children and year round community

Hi everyone- this is Audrey and I'm wondering if anyone knows how many people live year round at Sacbe and if anyone has kids?? We have a five month old and are seriously looking into relocating yearound to Pueblo Sacbe but need to make sure that there will be a social life for our tiny one.

Also- Does anyone know if there are ways to spend more time on the land than the drive by tour??? House care taking etc. We would love to FEEL it.

This might get more responses from people at Sacbe if it was under that heading. I met Bill Barton, Eric (has a family), Lynn, Jose Luis (family), Walter, and Solomon when I was there in December. They all live there year round. There are others there that I didn't meet. I think at least 2 more families with kids. I beleive Eric has a child about the same age as yours. I think others are like us in the building process with plans to be there in a year or two. You might also contact Ted Rhodes directly at the Sacbe web site. I know there was talk of a Waldorf school being started, and there are pictures of kids riding horses at Sacbe on the website, www.pueblosacbe.com. Ted would also know about any housing available there. Hope this helps.

As of March 2006, there are three younger children in families of SacBe owners currently living full time in the village, as well as several children of workers who are less permanent. There are also several SacBe owner families living in Playa with their children as they prepare to build homes in the village.
