Villa Arqueologica and what to do w/o safe deposit box?

Anyone ever stay at Villa Arqueologica? Any positive or negatives?

And for those who stayed in condos or villas, if a safe deposit box wasn't available, what did you do with your passports and valuables?

Any advice/suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

We have stayed at the Villa Arqueologica near Uxmal. This is a great hotel. We had no problems whatsoever.

As for safety deposit boxes. If something is readily available I use it, if not I don’t worry. I have never had any problems with theft (other than the airline baggage people stealing from my luggage). I am sure theft from hotel rooms happens, however as I have no experience with that after traveling around the world for over 20 years. I use common sense and don’t worry.

If you prefer to be cautious, most larger hotels will have a safe you can use.

Actually this is a condo in Playacar. Apparently it's privately-owned and rented out.
