Yax-Mul or Yal-Ku opinions please!!!!

If you had to chose which one would be your favorite? We've seen Gran Cenote is Yax-mul similar? Thanks for the help!

It's by Half-Moon Bay near Akumal.
Swim out towards the large rock bisecting the inlet to the sea...love the statues there in Yal-Ku too. Afterwards we buy candy and fruit from some of the local folk who set up shop there.

Any idea on what it would cost a group of 4- 8 people to get to yal-ku? We might just do this a seperate day so we can do yax-mul on our tour.

do the Sea to Cenote tour for your Yax-mul fix.....it's a beautiful cave, definitely worth seeing, but not a daytrip to itself...........Yal-ku/HalfMoon Bay can be a whole daytrip with lunch at La Buena Vida

Admission to Yal-ku is 65 pesos a person. According to playa.info, cab fare to Akumal is 226 pesos.

Also, I don't think they rent snorkel gear, so you'll need to bring your own.

yes, you can rent snorkel gear at YalKu.

the original question was comparing Grand Cenote (SacAktun, or White Cave in Mayan) to YaxMuul (Green Hill, in Mayan). These are both inland cenotes, and are both very different experiences. YaxMuul, as Scott points out, is part of our Sea to Cenote tour. It is damn impressive.

Yalku is also a cenote, but it is more of a spring feeding the sea.

Yalku to YaxMuul is apples to oranges.

I have to decide which one of those would I want to see on our private tour. (Yax-mul/Yal-kul) I think I may be leaning towards doing Yax-mul with the tour and doing yal-ku a seperate day on our own. I think the cave might be more appealing to our group. I want them to get the whole Mexico feel on their trip and I think all would enjoy seeing the cenote.

I think booking the Playa.Info Sea to Cenote Tour just may be the highlight of your group's Mexico trip...the one thing they remember most!

That has been said by many folks...
