Continental Plaza Playacar - all inclusive now?
Hello all,
I am booked with a travel agent for an all inclusive stay at the Continental Plaza. But yet a lot of the posts about it say it is not AI. My travel agent assures me it is, and it was a recent change. Can anyone verify this? Do they have some guest staying all inclusive and some not? Thanks, Phil Jensen Can't wait until I arrive on Friday the 20th of December! ![]() |

Hi Phil
Please let me know how your vacation was? I was interested in the Continental Plaza Playacar also. But then I read a few reviews and 2 of them mentioned the musty smell in the room. As I am allergic to mold, I cannot take a chance and book there. So I'd appreciate any comments. Did you go to Cozumel? Any recommendations for us when we go? Thankyou. Jan & Jim |

Well we're back and had a great time.
Continental is a very nice hotel, food is great, and the people are very nice. We had no problems with the room, other than the mattress is a little too hard (but we just lived with it). I noticed no weird smells, but then I am not allergic to anything either. Only complaint, is that due to it's all or not all inclusive nature - you have to sigh for everythign (though it says zero balance). Which is a PITA. But we had a hell of a great time for only US$650 all incluve for a week including airfare from Canada. Can't complain about that. Phil |

Playa'd

Well, it's been a long time since I visited this board or posted....I am happy to be back as I am planning my next trip to Playa in April. We had so much fun last September during Hurricane Isidore, that we are bringing roughly 20 people with us. We originally choose the Continental Plaza and the AI option, although we do most of our dinning in town...
Anyway, a relative of mine called our agent to book yesterday...and found out that we could not book AI with Continental. Is it no longer AI? In any case, we decided to go with the Reef Club as our alternative. I am hoping we made the right decision. Any comments or thoughts? Thanks! LB |

I can no longer book the Continental as an all inclusive either.
As for the Reef Club...nice beach but I've had quite a few complaints about the food. I no longer recommend it unless a client insists. Perhaps try the Barcelo, Riu Tequila or the Bahia Principe. All very nice properties yet fairly inexpensive...you get alot for your dollar! :P |
