Kirby Puckett, 1960-2006 RIP

A very sad day in MN sports history...one of the greatest ball players is dead at 45. May he live on forever in our hearts and memories.

I am so sad today. Dana Reeve was such a special beautiful woman who gave her life to her husband and son. There is now a thirteen year old boy without parents..............

Both are so sad. the only thing that is comforting is the Dana and Chris are together again - they appeared to be so devoted to one another. But their son must be lsot. I cannot imagine. It really is true - the good die young.

I have three boys who all play ball. My husband has used Kirby as a example to them, as a great team leader and getting the most out of his talent. It is a sad day.

It's a very sad day. We've lost two great people. Kirby was a great baseball player. His memory will live on forever.

These are both complete shockers to me. My husband told me that Kirby had fallen on somewhat of hard times after retiring from baseball, but what a role model he was for younger people. Very classy person.

And Dana Reeve! OMG, she was just diagnosed with cancer a couple of months ago...I thought that if anyone could beat that horrible disease by sheer determination and will, it was her. My heart goes out to her son.

The world is a much poorer place today without these two wonderful people.

I was sad to hear about Kirby. The "Homer Hanky" will always remind me of him and what he did for MN.

He will truely be missed by his Statesmen and the nation. I am not a sports fan but had a lot of respect for the man.

May the soul of the faithfully departed by the mercy of God rest in peace.

I loved Kirby and I was never a baseball fan. He was so classy and such a role model for children. He really took that role seriously unlike many sports stars. He will be missed!
