Hilary and I went to Don Mario's twice last week and it was EXCELLENT and very reasonably priced. We had the Aracharra steak, penne carbonarra and grilled garlic shrimp with brochetta and fried brie as apps- all were prepared perfect.

The chef runs a tight kitchen- I was eagerly chowing down the penne carbonarra when he came out to ask me if it was too salty and offered to prepare me an additional plate. Great service. He has an open door to his very clean, yet small kitchen where you can see him work and his attention to detail while preparing each dish.

The arrachara, served with crisp fries and a salad on a wodden plank, was $9 USD, the carbonarra, with a portion that was more than I could eat, was $8 USD.

Don Mario's also had a decent wine list- we had a nice bottle of Robert Mondavi Cabernet for $28 USD.

I wish there were restaurants like Dan Mario's with such great food and service for such reasonable prices around here in Southern CT- I would be there all the time.

This restaurant is probably one of the best dining values in Playa right now in my opinion, I highly recommend it.
