Ventaclub Playa Maroma
Has anyone stayed there? We got a timeshare exchange confirmed into Ventaclub Playa Maroma since I requested this resort. So far I know it is on the number 1 Beach voted by the Travel Chanel and is an Italian Resort. Some Canadians that stayed there liked it. But any info would be nice.
We have a rental car and are allowed to opt out of the all-inclusive package since we are timeshare guests. The pictures look good and we think it will be a good base for us. We might take the all-inclusive package for part of the week if the food is good. The resort is next door to the delux Playa Maroma Hotel. |

Ventaclub Maroma/Hotel Maroma
Went to Hotel Maroma last week for a spa treatment and lunch. Highly recommend a spa treatment (but not the facials - they'll do them in the "beauty salon"). I had a hot stone massage in one of the fabulous bedrooms. There were bamboo blinds over the open windows and all I could hear was the rustling of palm trees in the breeze. The room was huge with stairs leading from the living room area into the bedroom area, also a colourful tiled bathtub the size of a small swimming pool. The meal there was the best we had in Mexico. I would definitely go back even though a little pricey.
We mistakenly entered at the Ventaclub Maroma first, but there was no way those security guys would let anyone who doesn't belong there onto the grounds. Security was equally as tight as Hotel Maroma. Even though we had prearranged everything well in advance, it still took 10 mins of negotiations with the guys at the front gate before we were allowed in. They get a lot of high profile guests there (recently, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife) so I guess it's understandable. The Ventaclub and the Hotel Maroma share an absolutely stunning and virtually empty beach. As you look north and south of the two resorts along the beach, you can't see anything but jungle. There are no other signs of "civilization" in sight. Hotel Maroma is quite small (less than 30 rooms) so we only saw about 10 people on the beach there at any given time. I assume Ventaclub is much larger, but still the beach was quiet & secluded compared to what you find at PDC and Playacar. Unfortunately, that's all the info I can give you since I didn't actually see the Ventaclub grounds. |

Thank you for the info. That beach sure sounds perfect and we can't wait to get there in May.
Dougie! The Conquest site has actually the most information and pictures about the Ventaclub. I have the resort owners website but it is all in Italian since this is an Italian owend resort. I got the website with my confirmation letter for the timeshare exchange. www.vacanzenelmondo.com Their direct phone number to the resort is 52-984-877-3300 |

Ventaclub Maroma
Have seen a few review of this hotel on other discussion boards while just browsing around (sorry, I can't remember which sites, but I will give you web addresses later if I stumble upon them again), and guests often mention how beautiful the resort is, but on the negative side that the clientele is 90% Italian and that all activities take place only in Italian.
Hopefully you can get by ok in Italian? :-? |

Thanks Annie! The 90% Italian thing is no problemo at all for us. Actually we where just in Italy this September and I have spent 1 month each Summer in the Venice area growing up. That does not mean that I speak or understand very much Italian but my parents and I (we will be traveling together) feel comfortable around Italians. Our Italian is so bad because in Northern Italy most Italians speak German very well and most younger Italians also speak good English. I think this will be actually fun for us. At least I will not be the only topless woman on the Beach there and blend in with the others.

Not the best customer service that's for sure! Oh well, it is their loss loosing you as a guest. By the way have you checked into Iberostar? The Iberostar Resorts are extremly nice and incorporate existing nature into their resorts!!! Just beautiful! We have stayed at Iberostar Quetzal as well as IB Cozumel and both where just great. We also had dinner at the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and that was just as nice with amazing pools and not far from Ventaclub Playa Maroma.

Yep, checked out the Iberostar as well. Could be there too. Since there is no total preference as to where we go this trip, we won't be booking it for sure until next week. Whatever looks the best and at the best price at the time I guess. Could be PDC, Punta Cana, or Cuba again...aahh, so tough choices... Dougie |

I called the Ventaclub directly in Mexico today and got to talk to Gil a very nice Italian guy. He was very nice to talk to and spoke great English. He answered all my questions and was very helpful. I just wanted to share this. I think it will be very nice to stay there.

ventaclub playa maroma
venta club was not all that great, if your american or canadian you do not get treated well by the iltalian staff. the reason i know this is because my parents are italian and i understood everything that they said and let me tell you there were making fun of the "americana" guests at the resorts. they do not make you feel welcome, and you feel like you dont belong. until i told them that im italian you should have seen there faces. so i urge you if you dont mind not talking to anyone, or being by yourself go here. the food and the hotel was wonderfull, but other than that, that was the only thing good about the hotel. by the way all the so called entertianment is in italian..
