Breaking News: Secrets Excellence will remain adults only.
Hello everyone,
It's been awhile since I posted here, but I just received a very lengthy e-mail from Mr. Durk Urban who is the VP of Operataions for the new "Excellence Group" of resorts and thought some of you may find it beneficial. For those of you who may not be familar; Secrets Excellence Riveria Cancun (SERC) will be undergoing new management as of October, 2006. For the past several years, a group of hotel investors have been in a working relationship with Secrets Resorts and Spas. The two resorts in question are SERC and Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana (SEPC). They have decided to branch off on their own. This has left many questions regarding the level of service and amenities which will be offered at both SERC and SEPC. I am pleased to report that Mr. Urban has assured me that both resorts WILL remain adults only. For me personally, this gives me reassurance that the level and quality of the other amenities will remain reasonably consistent with what Secrets Resorts and Spa lovers have come to expect. For the purpose of clarification, the new resorts will be referred to as "Excellence Group." and will consist of SERC and SEPC. A new "Excellence Grout" resort called called "Excellence Playa Mujeres" is scheduled to open in the the summer of 2007 with "Excellence Oyster Bay" in Jamaica opening in the spring of 2008. I am also in contact with AMResort upper management. Secrets Capri will remain 'as is' and managed by AMResorts under the Secrets Resort and Spa flag. They plan to open Secrets Maroma in the fall of 2007 along with another Secrets (and Dreams or Sunscape) property near Runaway Bay in Jamaica. So, bottom line..... looks like another 'adult only' Luxury All Inclusive chain will be available for the travel consumer. Hope this helps to clear up some of your questions. I am still in the process of gathering more information daily, but the committment to remain 'adults-only' was huge in my world. Cheryl ![]() |

secrets excellence question
hi there...i am going for y honeymooon in nov 2006. Besides the news, i am trying to decide which resorts will give us the best couple, secluded and quiet time. I have the following in mind: el dorado royale, secrets excellence and secrets capri, aventura spa palace, royal hideaway, maroma resort, ceiba del mar. I not too tempted by del amr and royal hideaway and aventura as they are very expensive or very different. Any advice is welcome.
