Ever buy 'em???

I do. Every once in a while I'll buy $10 of $2 tix. I had a total of $30 of winning tix in my car, so tonight when I went out to pick up some Chinese food to pig out on, I decided to cash them in.

Well.... not exactly. Rather than cash them in, I decided to get two $5 tix and 10 $2 tix.

The two $5 tix were duds. Not even a buck.

But on the $2 tix......

On three I won $4 each.

Then on another I won $50!!

Then another I WON $400!!!!!!!

The girl at the convenience store didn't bat an eye or even crack a smile when she counted out my $462.

I, on the other hand, had to resist the urge to do cartwheels across the parking lot! And I almost forgot to pick up my Chinese food!

I stay away from them as I've got an addictive personality. In fact in 30 mins last night I dropped a lotta bucks in AC. I have no control!

Way to go! You have better luck than I do! We got John $38 dollars of the one dollar ones for his birthday! He made $42 dollars! So we made $4 bucks! It was fun watching him scratch them though!

Ryan likes the ones where it takes awhile to find out if you won... like the Bingo ones... as he gets to the end it's like "If I get a G43 or an I20 I win"... more suspenseful... very rarely wins, though....

Okay, twist my arm, here's MY "scratch ticket" story.

One year for Christmas, my MIL gave me $100 to go "do something fun for" myself. Well, I could not stand the woman, and was darned if I was going to have fun on her nickel! And I can be spiteful that way, you should have heard what I was thinking about everyone having such a great time at Peepfest -- except Karen. And David. And Gail. And Stogey. And Susie. But I digress ...

So instead, I took the $100 and what-the-heck bought $100 worth of scratch'n'win lottery tickets. Well, I got through about 3/4 of the tickets without winning ANYTHING. What a freaking waste of money, and I was getting so mad at myself. Then I think I won 3 $2 prizes, and a $10 prize, then I was really getting panicky. So by this time I was making my private prayers to the big man upstairs -- please, please let me make my money back.

Literally the last ticket I scratched was a $100 prize. I got shivers up my back and I could swear I could feel a deep voice behind me saying:
"Dont. Ever. Do. That. Again."

Never have. But will play Lotto and Power Ball once in a while.

When I told David about my good luck, he asked me what I was gonna do with the $$.

Told him it was going into the "Vacation Fund" piggy bank (I really do have one).

Note to anyone working in a convenience store and paying out a winning ticket to someone: Smile and say "good for you" or "congratulations" or something!! Just might get you a tip. In my case she acted like a total b*tch, so she got NADA from me. :p
