GRand Flamenco Xcaret part 2
The rest of the report
Sorry this took so long. Entertainment Staff was good but remenber the reosrt was only 1/4 full. They really tried to get everyone involved, but since there was not alot of people they had a hard time. At night same stuff as all all-inclusives. We only saw the 2 shows which was Mr Flamenco, very funny and the Mexican night. Mexican night is where they the folkloric ballet (sp) and other Mexican Dancers very good. I really like the stuff so I'm kinda partial to that. Disco was happening at night after the show, played all kinds of music disco rock n roll salsa country good variety. The Sports bar was also fun for drinks had games you can play pool table. Drinks were all good at both places. The food We mainly ate at Le Buffet for Breakfast and had dinner there 3 times. Breakfast was the best so many choices. I loved the donuts fresh every day. They would make fresh fruit smoothes with any kind of fruit you want. Many choices for eggs and all other breakfst foods. Lunch We eat the Beach Club and El Largo (snack bar). I think the Beach Club had a better selection for food than El Largo, but only my opinion. Both places had alot of the same foods, hamburgers hot dogs chicken some fish dish beef pasta dishes pizza salads and desserts and of course chips and the best guacamole. The beach club seemed to have more a selection steamed veggies more salad selection and this place was never busy. Service was better here. El Largo was more crowded and service was slower here. Took a long time to get refills on drinks or we would just get them ourselves. Food was good at both places and try the soups they are great! It was kinda strange eating soup when its 85 plus outside. Dinner was eaten on 3 nights at the main buffet. Again alot of food to choose from. All was good. I had the ribs 2 nights and they were great. Service here was excellant. All restaurants had smoking and non smoking sections. We also ate at La Hacienda the Mexican Restaurant, Service and meals were outstanding. I had enchilada dish and hubby had a beef dish both were excellent. I'm not a real fan of Buffets but I always found something to eat and never went hungry. Now on the Xcaret. Staying at this hotel we had free admission here. We went over after breakfast. 5 minute walk from Le buffet. arrived at 830a no one was there, we thought we would walk around and see some things while the place was slow and than go back to hotel and get swimsiuts and towels, so thats what we did. Saw alot, traveled in circles alot also. We got confused even with the map. Back to the hotel around 10-1030a got everything we needed and back to Xcaret. We did the river and it was cold, but got use to it that was so cool. As many times as we have been to this area about 6 times this is our first venture to any ruins or parks. Needless to say this will not be our last. We also went to the beach here, got some floats and floated to one of The Dolphin things they had close by. That was fun to watch the people kinda like riding the Dophins. The water here had some stuff floating around in it. Around 1-2p we headed back to hotel for lunch and nap. Than around 530p back for the night show the arena where this is at is right near the entrance we got seats and the show started at 600p The show was excellant. A little long, we left at 815p and we did not see the fanale. I'm sorry we missed it but over 2 hours of show we were getting tired, so we left. Again back to the hotel. (we did alot of walking this day). That was our Mexcian night at the hotel. so we saw more dancing and heard more music, as I said I really like this stuff but had heard and saw plenty that day. This was our last night there so stayed out a little longer than usual. But 600a came early the next day. All in all we really enjoyed our vacation and would love to go back sometime. Something that happened I forgot to mention. 2 nights the power went out after we went to bed, on the last night happened 2 times, so the clock was flashing and the alarm was not set, so be sure to get a wake up call we did and are glad, but I woke up twice during the night and reset the clock. (was kinda nervious about flying) not much sleeping that night. Go and enjoy this place it was great. Feel free to email any questions. |
