No one will have any reviews. It's not opening until sometime this summer.

Oh, and there will be two hotels that they open this summer, the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya (500 rooms) and the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach (450 rooms). There will then be two more hotels to follow, for a total of 4 hotels on the same grounds.

And...where they are building this complex is where the Fat Cat stops, at Xaac cove. They are calling "Playa Xaac".

Has anyone seen the stretch of beach that this new resort is on? I can't wait to hear some of the reviews and see some pics.

Not too much beach there. Unless they've really worked on it, which is possible. And there's not much chance of going there at all this summer. They're moving people to one of three other resorts who were expecting to be there in August, '06. They don't say when they'll really open, but they do say not in August.

I read on another board that guests booked for August were being moved too
I am waiting to see some trip reports before I book this resort with Shammy. I hope I see something before the good deals run out

Do they mention which resort you may be moved to? Are they of comparable quality? We can book Grand Seriens inexpensively departing from Toronto. Might be a cheap way of getting one of the other reorts.

A full description of the hotel, junior suites etc and good photos of the Grand Sirenis are available on diytravel. You can also book the hotel for when it opens in September 2006.

New pictures of Grand Sirenis

Check out http://www.losviajeros.com/index.php...asc&&start=390
this site is in Spanish, but the pics speak for themselves. There are two sets of pics on this page, one with links, but a little further down on the page other pics are posted.
Looks as if it's going to be beautiful.

We were booked to go to the Valentin la Hacienda in April of 2007.............It will not open as scheduled so we have been moved to the Grand Sirenis, with a travel voucher good for one year after the Valentin opens..............sounds like a good deal, I would really like to read some reviews to see what we are getting ourselves into..............not too sure about the decor, but considering that it priced out at a lot more money.......we aren't complaining!
