Getting Married at Iberostar Maya

Yea!! This is my first post!! I recently found out about this website and have been surfing it for the last couple of weeks. Pretty neat!!! Anyway, a group of us will be at the Iberostar Maya April 27 - May 3. We would definately like to meet new people. The group that is going is pretty crazy!!! We were at the Maya about a year ago and had a great time. However, we have a more diversified group going this year. Most of us could live by the pool bar each day, but that won't fly for others. Any suggestions on where we could go that would make everyone happy.

We stayed next door to the Maya at the Lindo the past two years. Both years we went on the Fat Cat and enjoyed that very much. We went to the bullfight in Cancun. That was bloody but educational. Last year we snorkeled in a cenote and a river that empties into the sea. That was fun too.

Hi, I see that you are getting married, I just wanted to know what you are planning for wedding favors for your guest. We are getting married at the Riu Tequila in Jan, and have been racking my brain.

We aren't doing too much. We ordered bracelets on line to give to everyone. The kind that you wear for cancer and many various other reasons. We picked a color and had our names put on them along with the place we are going and the date. We also bought beads for everyone. I was looking at getting everyone a small frame that is in the shape of a flip flop, but I haven't found any that were cheap enough. Other than that, we aren't doing too much.

Thanks for your info....how many guests are you having?
Have you met with your wedding coordinator or just via emails? We are thinking about going down to meet ours in July. It feels weird organizing a wedding that is hundreds of miles away. I guess one has to really put alot of trust into the wedding planner

There will be a total of 15 people at the wedding. We have not met our coordinator. We have only talked to her a few times, otherwise everything has been set up via email. I am getting a little nervous. Our wedding is only a month a way and we haven't really gotten any final notice or confirmation. I am sure that is the norm, but it just makes me nervous. I keep reminding myself that everything will be fine and that they plan weddings all of the time, so they know what they are doing. (at least I hope ) How many guests are you having??

I am also getting nervous...really starting to feel it in my neck ...not good! However, I know it's going to be fine. We are not going down first and are only working with our coordinator via email. I live on Tripadvisor.com checking out reviews. Right now we have about 45 people, which I think that's why I'm nervous...want to make sure everyone has a great time.

Hi

We're getting married in Iberostar Paraiso resort in May. we're travelling from London and there are 25 of us altogether.

We have chosen bottle openers in the shapes of shells for the men and small shell decorated photo albums for the ladies.

Only 5 weeks 3 days to go.

Stacey

We are having aprox 30 guest....and am now waiting to hear back from the hotel if the judge is free on the day and time that we want. Still waiting. I guess it all runs on Mexican time.
I found a place to make starfish out of clay, and I'm going to make them into fridge magnets for our favors. It's going to take me abit of time to sand and paint them all, but with a bottle of wine.....it should take no time at all. Not sure how the last few will look... But I guess still better than having to do 200 favors for a larger wedding.
