Is Grand Coco Bay north at Coco Beach? I get confused b/c I think there is another resort Coco something. Anyway, Coco Beach is great and I've posted pics and info about it on another thread. Try using the search. I'd find it for you, but I gotta run. Have fun!

My son & I popped in the other day and it looks absolutely beautiful. I live less than a block from there and we use the beach right next to theirs. It seems to be vastly better than before, perhaps the upgrades after Wilma did this. It is an AI with quite a program for people who would like help with their activites. Enjoy

We'll be staying there in Aug. and I visited the resort during peep fest (the week before, actually). Kim, the guest services manager, gave me a nice tour of the property and let me take pix.

They're in my trip report at this link:
trip report-visit to GCB

Barba, if that's where you hang out, I hope to meet you in August! I've been following your move and it's so exciting. Hope you're getting adjusted, and your furniture arrives soon!!

We stayed there during peep fest, 2/27-3/6. We really liked it. The locations is great. The food was surprisingly good! Had 2 teenage girls with and the entertainment staff took care of them all the time (cute young guys). they do a great job keeping things hopping. The resort is on a beautiful stretch of beach. The resort is very neat with thatched roofs. I will say one thing, do not leave your sliding glass door open and turn off the air, even if you think it is cold. In the evening, if you do, the bugs will come in. The first night I left the sliding glass door open as it was cooler outside on our first day, when we came inside there were some bugs on the walls. I just killed them, shut the door, and never saw one again. they do come from outside because I have seen them on the balcony, but only one or two and they are no different than any bugs you see around the US,,,,and we did not see any scorpions! We had room #2432. A great room directly over looking the pool and straight shot at the ocean. If we ever stay there again, that is the room I would want.

We had 2 doubles as there were 3 of us but I think you can request a king or at least a queen, not sure. Ice machines? No, but all you have to is bring along a collapsable cooler and ask the guys at one of the bars to fill it up with ice, and they will do that. The mini frig only has about 4 cans of soda in there. There is room for other beer if you want to go to walmart and buy it. By the way, walmart is pretty neat!

We returned from Grand Coco Bay last Thursday (first time in Mexico). After walking around PDC for a week looking at other resorts and hotels in town, we would definitely return to Grand Coco Bay. Can not compare the food or service to other places, but the beach and it's location were the best. Be sure to take an insulated mug with top (the kind you get at convience stores for coffee or pop). The plastic cups they give you for drinks are too small and fill with sand on a windy day!

One more piece of advise. The two resturants at the resort are great. You need to make reservations at the breakfast buffet, early. And do not be afraid to order more than one appitizer, salad or main dish if you want to try them. They never refused us. We went with a group, so we got to see alot of the dishes, and sample them.
