Going to the Grand Coco Bay in Playa del Carmen...any info

A friend and I are going to stay at the Grand Coco Bay Resort in Playa del Camen in September 2006 for a well needed and deserved vacation! Does anyone have or can you get any information on the resort (the stuff that is not in the ads!), looking for spa prices and anything else you can think of that might see helpful! Give me any info you have on Playa del Carmen, it will be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!

I don't have info on spa prices, but when I run by in the next couple of days I'll check (massages are on the beach). If you search there is lots of info. I posted pics since the hurricanes on a thread somewhere too. Have fun!

We stayed there 2/27 - 3/6, liked it a lot. Here's a nice informational website with spa prices etc. Any questions, just ask.

We just got home from our vacation at the Grand Coco Bay Resort. We thought the place was very nice and the beach was beautiful. We walked south down the beach to the ferry dock in Playa del Carmen and the beach at the Grand Coco is by far the BEST. The food was good. We had the breakfast buffet each morning, lunch at the pool side snack bar, the either the dinner buffet (which changes their theme each night), or made reservations for the Mexican or Italian restaurant. Our dinner at the Italian restaurant was excellent. There is a great swim-up bar, lobby bar, and nightly show. We met so many great people. The hotel used to be a 5 star, but now I'd say it's a 3 star. The new owner has to get the hotel running and back to a 5 star again. We are planning to stay at the Hrand Coco again next year. We did not use the spa, an hour massage was $60 (but he told me I could pay $50, so there is some negoiating there). You can walk to Playa del Carmen, but a taxi ride is only $3.00, so we took a taxi at night.Have a great time. Hope this helps.

I read somewhere recently that they opened up a disco now so that is a good thing for more nightly entertainment.

Some call it a disco, some a sports bar. We did not spend a lot of time there. On Sunday night they have karaoke, that was pretty funny. Guests at the resort either go to the "disco" or lobby bar for drinks and to meet people. Both places are fun.

I was there in Jan when they were still recovering from the Hurricanes. I can't say a single thing bad about that place, loved it, loved it ,loved it. I'll be back in 10 months(sooner if I win the lottery!)
