How is the Gala since they have new owners?
From what I hear is that the Gala has changed owners to Sandos. How is it? I have been there with my family about 4 years ago and had a great time we wanted to go back in July. I know there was entertainment guy by the pool with music and contests. Is it still like that? Well i would really appreciate if you can give me a write back about my questions. Thank you!

We've been there (assuming you mean Gala Playacar) 5 times in the last 4 years and have had absolutly no complaints. Going back in April. There has been quite a few negitive reports lately particularly pertaining to the food. My thinking is that you could use your prior experience with respect to the other aspects of your stay with the exception of the food issue. I'm not concerned about it but once we get there that could change. It's a wonderful AI in my opinion. The beach is the best (our priority), the entertainment for kids is great (not an issue for us) and we have no complaints about the staff. We like that it isn't so big like a lot of the others. I'm sure others will weigh in with their takes. Look for other threads on the subject here and on the locogringo site.

Beach is wonderful. Food is okay as far as AI's go. The housekeeping staff could use a few more employees as room cleaning is not always done in a timely fashion, ie sometimes at 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM. The entertainment staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time. The evening shows surprisingly were quite good and some were very professional compared to other AI's we have stayed at. All in all it is a hotel that has changed hands and is slowly trying to put their own stamp on things. Some areas are being freshened up and it appears that over the next few months the place will have a brighter look. The place is geared to families but still quiet enough and enjoyable to those who are sans kids.
