Scooter Rental

How much are scooters to rent per day with insurance. I want to ride a scooter in and around Tulum I am a little nervous to ride a scooter along the busy highway from Playa. Does Tulum have anywhere to rent scooters for the day?

Oooo, me thinks not a good idea at all!

Don't know if they rent scooters in Tulum though - but someone should.

There really isn't too much of a need for renting a scooter there unless you plan on staying somewhere on the beach for several nights and want it on hand in order to get back and forth from town. Even then I would just use the taxis at 30-35 pesos. We bus to Tulum and use taxis only. Once you're on the beach you explore it by walking on the beach. Can't see anything from the road really. In town it's all just the one main strip which is only about a mile long if that. The only time I've found it to be worth it to rent a scooter is on a day trip to Cozumel in order to explore the beach side of the island which is vast and buildings etc. are rare. I always tend to pay $20 a day for a scooter.
