It really depends on what you are looking for. Some long for the days when Playa was a sleepy little fishing town, others welcome the additions that have come; all depends on who you ask.
We have met some wonderful people in Playa that we keep in touch with when we are back home, and catch up with when we are there. That's what keeps us coming back. Sure, some of our regulars hang-outs are no longer in existence, but we look at it as an opportunity to discover new places. That is how we found The Roof Bar and La Famiglia during our last trip.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, Playa can still deliver an excellent vacation if you let it.
