Iberostar funjet suprise special

If any of you are looking to book a trip short notice...funjet has Iberostars in the riveria maya on surprise special ( they pick the Iberostar resort) 7 nights out of Milwaukee...$999. I cant think of any Iberostar there that I wouldnt enjoy for that amount. Wish I was planning a trip!

I booked that trip in Feb, we fly out of Detroit in 6 days! (if we were able to leave a week later it would have been over $800 dollars cheaper.) We paid a little more than $999 but nevertheless it was alot cheaper than if we were to book a specific Iberostar. And as you say, you can't go wrong with any of the 4 resorts, they are all excellent. I'm hoping we get the Quetzel/Tucan though, I love that place. We stayed there a year and a half ago for our honeymoon! (and its so close to Playa!)

Oh ...I can feel your excitement.... we are planning a trip next year and if our friends dont go with us I think I will hold off buying until this special comes out..Last year we paid around $3200 for the two of us..what a savings. We stayed at the Lindo (actually had booked the Del mar but was moved) Either way your gonna love it!

I'm going in October for 10 days at Iberostar Tucan and paid $1500. per person leaving out of Philly, I took out travel insurance and if it goes on sale the travel agent will honor any sale. Never been there, so I'm really looking forward to this vacation.

The Tucan is great, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay there.. Just watch out for the freshly waxed floors near the resteraunt/fish pond areas, a little bit of water and your skating......

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the dress code is for the restaurants?
And what about the lounge chairs around the pool, do you have to get up early to get one?

So you will be leaving for Iberostar in May? Have a great time. : )

I wore khakis and flip flops and izod shirts for dinner..... If u want one of the covered palapa huts at the pool you gotta play the game and get up real early and put your stuff their to (save it) ...

I never did it cause their is plenty of shade all around the pool area... If one happened to open up though, I was all over it.... I'm just too lazy on vacation to get up early to grab a primo spot, I'll sit my butt down anywhere their is a shady spot.....

Were doing the Barcelo this time around...... The Tucan I will probably do again next year......

Did the dress code require men to wear shirts with collars and pants (instead of shorts)? Thanks!

BTW - we stayed at the Barcelo a few years back and loved it!

You have to wear pants, and I don't think that the shirt has to have a collar. I think you will be alright as long as your not wearing a tank top or some other kind of cut off shirt. For sure pants though.

Iberostar Tucan is by far our favorite resort in playa. We were there last April and the resort and weather were perfect. We are trying the El Dorado Royale in 4 weeks. We would have stayed at the Tucan but going with friends that wanted to try a different resort. We are envious!!!! Enjoy!!!

Last I heard, long pants for men are only required in the ala carte restaurants that have A/C (meaning you don't need them for the Steakhouse or the Seafood/Caribbean restaurants which are in the restaurant palapas at the beach). The Italian and Mexican restaurants have A/C. Not sure about the Japanese restaurant, but I'd guess it's A/C'd also since it's not on the beach.

You are correct about the long pants, and the Japanese rest. is in the A/C so long pants are required. Men can wear bermuda shorts at the outside rests. Now women on the other hand can wear whatever they want. ( It's a law in Mexico ) Ha Ha we are just lucky!!!!
