Cool Bad Luck or Good Luck??

This could have been the start of the trip reort from hell. Last Saturday the wife and I were off to run some pretrip errands to Costco, etc. We returned home two hours later to the flooded kitchen and dining room of our house. A 1/4 hose fitting failed and ran water that long on the hardwood floors. Quick thinking and a good wet/dry vac and we kept the damage to a minimum. Then as I was at home depot the next day getting parts to fix the hose I get a call from Chris saying that one of the electrical circuts had just quit and it was not a tripped breaker. I knew that the water had not gotten on any electrical areas so I though now what. We live in a one story house built in the early 60's and was owned by a guy with no electrical skills but thought he had some. I drove home and after 4 hours found the loose connection in a outlet that feed everything on the circut. Did I mention that this is the circut that runs the beer fridge and our upright freezer full of food.
What I am getting at is that if either of these things would have happend one week later the water would have run for probably 8-10 more hours before our hous sitter would check on things and I know he would not have noticed no power to the freezer for ten days (checking freezer is now on the do everyday list for him).
We talked it over and decide if this was not good luck it was at least fortunate timing. We are still sooo out of her this saturday for ten wonderful days in the Yucatan and Quintana Roo.
Come to think of it he probably would have noticed no power to the beer fridge.

We had a neighbor who had something like this happen to him. (although it was the hose to his washing machine that broke)..another neighbor noticed water pouring out his front door and down his drive way.....what a freaking nightmare !!!

Sounds like you had some good luck !!!
