EDSS trip report
Ok,I will jump into this .Returned the 28 th late at night and have been busy ever since.Ready to go back to Playa already
![]() So I will start with the "Oh my gosh" I almost couldn't get packed and ready between work and this blessed forum.I was glued to monitor and keyboard. Ended up having no sleep before our flight which was early in the A.M.,plus we were expecting snow and I did not want the road to close and prevent us from catching our flight. No problem...picked up the Snowman and he drove while I rested on our way to the airport(no snow yet , just really cold). No sleep either. The airport was great, not too many people.Hung out at the closed bar watching news waiting for our flight. Caught a few quick naps on the plane. I do not recall any out of the ordinaries at the airport. Was I just tired? My next memory is we are through the airport doors, the air is warm..ok hot and we made a dash towards the beer cart.Corona and Modelo I think.AHHH it was wonderful ,and, we were in paradise. So off in the van we go...we had it to ourselves...no hanky panky yet, but we did stop for beer and low and behold we are at a 7 Eleven. Super cool...we are cruising down the warm Mexican highway beers in hand and after all the prepping, Forum fun and research,we are here!!! ![]() Tah Dah..we see the sign, well we saw both signs, tee hee.El Dorado Seaside Suites..yeah us! We checked in,a few folks were arranging dinner reservations for the night and we made ours.We chose Italian. 8:30 I think it was. We were taken on a tour of the grounds which was beautiful. The bars, the restaurants, the beachbeds, the beach, then to our room. Very nice and spacious too.We had 2 double beds and had asked when checking in if we could have a king, which could be fullfilled the next day,but we ended up deciding that 2 beds were better than one wink winkWe must have ended up at the bar because my next sleepdeprived memory was at the Italian restaurant.Do not recall (ha ha) what I ordered but I do know it was delicious. Can't even describe it..very gourmet with a great presentation.Very nice. Snowman is gonna laugh at me but my next memory is of the hammock...probably hours later. There was a show going on down by the bar. Beautiful hammock. Wanna fill in any blanks on this first day hun?

Sounds like you immediately liked your resort. Nice touch with the tour right off the start. Never have had a tour at any of the four resorts we have been to. What type of room did you have for your stay? Can't wait for the rest of your report. Any pictures?

Gosh I do not even know if that series of events is correct,I may have confused the late night events with day two.ooh thats so bad.
I should add though, we were given champagne upon arrival and for our tour of the resort. On our bed(s) was a beautiful double swan made from the linens with some of the flowers from the property weaved into it.Pretty ,pretty ,pretty. Also everyone was very friendly and accomodating!Very nice, very nice! |

Day # 2
So as "planned",its beach day,yeah!
Snowman and I woke up with the sun(a bit before).Pretty amazing considering what I think we drank the night before. It is vacation ya know ![]() Went down to the water fresh out of bed and started exploring and taking pictures of the sunrise. It was a bit windy but we came to welcome that breeze. Noticed the critter holes and took note to that ![]() Wandering around our new "vacation home" for the week we were impressed and happy. We have the beach to ourselves and what a lovely place to be. Everything was so beautiful and done with such care. The beachbeds were exotic and semi erotic.Hugs, kisses pictures and no hangover. What a wonderful day. We went back to our suite and lounged in our most comfy patio chairs...hmmm thats probably not the right name for them(see pictures) and we got ready for our day on the beach, but first breakfast. We had the option of dining inside or out, menu or buffet.Today we chose menu - outside.Oh geeze how do you spell huevos...ok maybe thats it.........I had Huevos Rancheros and Snowman had oooh here we go again....Chiliquilles...I think thats the right spelling.Anyway.both were great and we devoured them.Fresh o.j. a little coffee with leche and the blessed Bloody Mary and our day has started(our first full Mexican day). |

Day # 2 cont'
So,with full tummies(Snowman,can I say tummy?
we went back to our suite and............. got ready for our fun in the sun.It is down to the beach for us and it is 8:00 A.M. Not too choosy we took the first chairs I think. With a few Tequilla shots, margaritas and the occasional Mezcal para me we had a great time lounging...tunes,headphones,beach and our smiles.Servers were great, everything was perfect.Waitress/waiters on the beach ,muy bueno! Well,it is around noon and we left and walked back to our room.Thank God for that desired nooner!!!!!!!!! More about that later... Lunch time set up is the same as breakfast.....choose what ,where and when you want it.Again we were off the menu and at the beach side dining. Really nice patio area.I can't remember if we caught our first glimps of the enormous blue butterfly or if it was day three on the patio but oh my,they helped to make this whole trip all the more special.Love dem butterflies ![]() I believe we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at the main beachside bar.Roman the bartender in the A.m. and Pablo at night. These guys work 7 days a week smiling and singing all the while!!! We made our dinner reservations for the night and had chosen the Asian place.Ok now we are back to the part where the nooner was more than a good thing. I never did a search on it or heard it mentioned much,or even gave it too much thought being that we too live in the land of strong sun.Should have brought the sunscreen to the beach that A.M.!!Oh my gosh...I was fried to the point of no ankles and had that too much sun-sick feeling We ordered sushi, oriental salad and soup for starters and also the main course which were recommended by our waiter. At this point I am really struggling to get through it.I ate next to nothing and Snowmans appetite was not its usual self either. Our poor waiter did not understand and wanted to help us enjoy it more and kept bringing us drinks and Tequillas.I think he thought something about him or the restaurant was wrong and we were unable phsically to let him know different..it was sad...he was so concerned and we hoped he wasn't in trouble or being questioned on our lack of appettites and happiness. He tried sooo hard! To bed with us. So moral of day # 2 is wear some kind of sunscreen and get out of the sun a bit and have that nooner! |

Day #3 PDC ,here we come.....
Yeah, today we get to check out PDC and all that everyone has chatted about.
Had the buffet style breakfast today and we sat on the patio. They prepare omelettes for you by request.Ham,mushies, queso and other ingredients you can choose from. The red chile sauce drizzled over became my favorite way to have it.Lots of fresh fruit and all kinds of fresh juices(even watermelon juice).Very good for youThey even had all the fixens to make your own Bloody Mary's.Also very good for you(on vacation)Very nice..Caught a cab into town. Playa Del Carmen was cool.Drank our way to the web cam.First stop was to the Tequila Barrel ,though.Met T.K. oooh such a funny, cool guy.Snowman liked the mens bathroom pin-ups.How come there weren't any pin ups for us in the Ladies Room???Even went in and checked out the Shangri La Caribe's bar and drank a lil more there.Tequilla is so easy to drink in Mexico! Went back to the web cam and did the wave, kissed alot and made a huge peace sign in the sand.Put a lil pink Easter Peep in the center and our mission was complete(yes we were the stumblin fools havin a real good time!)Good times, good times! So it is back to the Tequila Barrel with us.More Tequilla to taste test, ya know.Nobody seemed to know where Tacos Israel was located so we went to Dr.Taco.Yum! Whoa!! some of that salsa was sooo hot but oh so yummy. It hurt so good!Ok back to T.B. Ran into Lolabella and all of her namebadge wearing friends.met some cool people.(Hello John from New York)Got to say hey to Synestere. He is a really sweet character!!Hope to run into him again in this lifetime. Not willing to disclose any further Tequila Barrel secrets ![]() It is late at night and pouring rain.Very very beautiful! We caught a cab home(EDSS) and wondered how in the world the cab driver could see through the downpour! Really great 5 th avenue day! |
