Viva Atzteca from Jan. 8 to 22

Hi! We are a German couple (31 and 30 yrs.) and will be in Viva Atzteca from Jan. 8 to 22. Will anyone be there the same time or/and has some suggestions for nightlife nearby as well as for snorkeling? Thanks!

Viva Azteca

Viva Azteca is only a 5 minute drive south (approx. $4 cab ride) of Playa del Carmen. You can walk to town in about 15-20 min. It's a pleasant walk either along the beach or along the road, however we only did it in the daytime. Not sure if it's ok at night, but the area seemed totally safe and non-threatening, so my guess is it's probably ok. In PDC you have dozens & dozens of choices for restaurants/night life.
Enjoy! You're gonna love it! 8)

I don't have suggestions, but please let us know how your trip went. We'll also be staying at Viva Azteca in May.

Did you book the hotel directly or through an agency?

Hi German couple! You must be back by now - how did it go? We are going to the Viva azteca in July, myself (29), my partner (30) and our son (10). Did you have to get vaccinations before going and how much was the airport tax and was it payable entering and leaving Mexico or just one way?

How was the hotel - any tips??

Thanks.

we're heading back to Viva Azteca in 2 weeks, can't wait. We were there around the same time last year. Because we have two children aged 6 & 8 we find it convenient to stay at an AI, but this year will be spending more time in town ( bringing family along - built in babysitter for a night or two!!)
Anyhow, the hotel is great - close to town, great beach, food is good, the place is spotlessly clean, the entertainment staff is great etc...
The only thing I would complain about is the "theatre". It is upstairs and a bit of a walk to get a drink, also theater style seating ( no tables ). The shows are a bit cheesy too, your nights are much better spent in Playa people watching - more entertaining.
The other option of course is to go to the sister resort "Viva Maya" where your food and drinks are still included. Their theater is open air, by the pool and ocean and most importantly close to the bar !!
Feel free to ask anymore questions although I'm not a "Playa Groupie" or anything like that, I'll do my best ! Anyone else in Playa Feb. 23 - Mar. 4 ?

Viva Azteca and Viva Maya

My husband and I and our two children age 13 and 9 are going to
be at Viva Azteca March 30 to April 7. Anyone else going to be at
Azteca or Maya then?

If you've been there before, we were wondering if there is anything
special that is useful to bring. Also, should we make reservations
for reservations only restaurants at Azteca and Maya? Also, what
is the cheapest way for our family of four to see Tulum or Chichen
Itza? And is there a cheap way for my daughter to "swim with the
dolphins" somewhere?

If you have been there recently, please post: how was it?
