Tornado time

Several sirens are already going off in towns near us, and we have some stuff ready for 'just in case.' Dang, this tornado alley area really gets to me every spring

Ten minutes and it will be passing through our area. Keep your fingers and toes crossed that this isn't going to be a big one or more, like OK City in 1999.

the week we moved to Broken Arrow in 1973, we had 6 tornados pass over our house, two touched down and hit houses on the other side of our housing division. I saw 13 on the ground within a mile or so in the 5 years we lived there....Tulsa is so beautiful, but I wouldn't move there again...........do they still do the raft race every year???

They canceled the raft race probably 10 years ago, I guess they had to keep rescuing too many drunks
I've lived in Tulsa or Broken Arrow all my life. We were buried alive in the December 5th 1975 tornado in east Tulsa, we took shelter in a sauna of all places.
The sirens just sounded about an hour ago, we had about 70 MPH winds and some nickel sized hail. All clear has been sounded so we are back to life as usual.
Come on down for Mayfest or Rooster Days!

We are under a tornado warning (not watch) tonite and we have gotten a ton of rain this week.

The water table is really high....can't get away from bad weather, just have to pick your poison I guess.

I lived in Tulsa for 7 years. Hid in the bathroom a number of times. We do that here too. Just a fact of life this time of year. Of course everytime I'm sitting in there, with the wind howling and the hail pounding, I always think, "What the HELL am I doing living in tornado alley??"

Closest a tornado came was when we first moved to Ft Worth. I was in 7th grade. Dark wall cloud forming, wind picking up and me calling "Do you hear that train??" to my mom inside the house. She ran out, dragged me back into the house and pushed me down on the ground with my brothers under a blanket.

She grew up in Indiana. They have "trains" there, too.

Well we're okay for now. It's amazing how dark the place got and before you know it, bright sunshine for awhile and some winds. Right now it's a little cooler, but that's all.

I forgot about the raft race. UNO MAS are you in OK?
