Sedona, Arizona Trip Report

Hi All,

Cheryl and I spent 5 days in Sedona, Arizona last week. Thought I would post a link to a trip report here in case anyone is interested in or has been to the area. In part due to a report Rixx filed here a couple of years ago I was able to learn a little more about the area before this trip. Thought I would do the same.

Truly a beautiful and unique place.

Thanx. Last time we were in that area was Spring 1988, and we were passing thru. It's time to go back and explore.

It looks wonderful!! We're going to be between Tucson and the border next weekend, but won't make it to Sedona. Will be just outside Fort Huachuca on my brother-in-law's ranch

Beutiful photos. Sedona is one of my favorite places. Would love to go back some day soon when my Playa addiction fades a bit.

I love your photo's! I told John we have to go visit there! He saw the one that looked like an old Indian home and said he would like to go to Mesa Verde too!

I used to live in Phoenix, and visited Sedona often. A horseback ride at sunset is a great adventure.

We really enjoy Tucson. Saguaro National Park is a wonderful place to be at sunset. We don't really get much of a sunset here as Pike's Peak is in the way so my appreciation for a beautiful sunset is a bit swayed. Also, Sabino Canyon was a nice place for a hike, although somewhat crowded. San Xavier del Bac Mission is a wonderful place to visit at sunrise. Sunrise...sunset...When I think of places I identify with lighting not historical value or scientific value, but nonetheless, locations that are visually quite appealing.
Rixx lives in Tucson, so he might be able to help you if you have some specific questions about the area.

Great report. I really enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures. That is something I've never seen before. Very cool! Glad it was a nice break for you both.

Thanks for sharing!

Very special! Thanks for sharing. We spent a week in Flagstaff in early Feb, and found our way down the canyon to Sedona several times. Luckily for us, AZ was still in the grips of a severe drought and temperatures were unseasonably warm, so tourists normally heading there for snow related activities stayed away. Imagine going to the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and Sedona and hardly seeing another soul. I wish you and Cher could have had the same experience, but from your photos of Cher I could see she was completely at peace. A picture's worth a thousand words, and Cher looks like a special person. Wish you both a wonderful future.

thanks! Your pictures are awesome. We are thinking of Arizona sometime this year. I have been doing a lot of internet research. I will definately have to show your pics to my husband. He is a real mountain person and is itching to go back to the mountains soon.

Loved the composition of the photo...picture perfect!

I also love this one:

What a perfect mirror image, even the colours in the reflection!

I see Sedona is only about a five hour drive from Vegas, where we'll prolly be in June. Praps we need to make a trip there, it is beautiful!!

Thanks. We'll be staying not too far from Sonoita. Will probably drive over to Patagonia - and definitely will have a dinner at the Stake-Out, there at the crossroads of that one highway with that other one - don't remember the numbers . The ranch itself is on a little road off of the road to Parker Canyon Dam/Lake

Wow, beautiful pics, thanks.
We were also there in spring of 88, but only for a day.
Your cabin looks so pretty.
