Thumbs up Crucial Fossil Found; 'Missing Link' Between Sea and Land Creatures

More evidence that support evolution (like we needed any more ). A 375 million year old fossil has been found in the Canadian Arctic that is huge in the science world.

Quote:
A crucial fossil that shows how animals crawled out from the water, evolving from fish into land-loving animals, has been found in Canada.

The creature, described today in Nature1,2, lived some 375 million years ago. Palaeontologists are calling the specimen from the Devonian a true 'missing link', as it helps to fill in a gap in our understanding of how fish developed legs for land mobility, before eventually evolving into modern animals including mankind.

http://www.nature.com/news/2006/0604.../060403-7.html

There has been many fossils found of creatures that have features of both fish and land-living animals, but this find is particularly important because it seriously narrows the gap in the fossil record; it has:

Quote:
a structure on its head that looks like a small gill slit that is on its way to becoming an ear, for example, and a long snout that would have been suited to catching prey on land. It probably lived in shallow waters, says Maisey, only hauling itself on to land temporarily to escape predators.

Now, I know this ain't no 'New Rings Found Around Uranus', but it is still interesting!

Eureka!!!! Life of Earth is solved....
All they have actually found is a fish that is another example of a lobe-finned fish (one of which still lives today—the coelacanth) that has bones similar in position to those seen in the arm and wrist of land-walking creatures—except these structures support fins with rays in them, not digits like fingers and toes (and as has been stated, they are NOT connected to the axial skeleton). We can confidently state that evolutionists have no examples of mutations or evolutionary processes that can lead to an increase in genetic information in a creature that would, for example, develop the appendage of a land animal from the fin of a fish (as would be required by molecules-to-man evolution). Evolution is stopped in its tracks at this point.

Who is 'we'?

You need some further edu-ma-cation :p from something other than 'Of Pandas and People' and similar pseudoscience Intelligent Design crapola. Or maybe stop perusing 'Answers in Genesis' and sites like that.
Evolution is far from 'stopped in it's tracks' by anything, it is fact.

laugh with me or at me....doesn't really matter to me. See....people are scared to death to hear an opinion from the other side. We are simply expected to accept evolutionist views and if you question it then surely you have to be nuts. Call me nuts.

Facts? They're not giving you facts.......nothing even close to a fact. The problem is the methods for determing the dates are flawed to begin with. Even Evolutionist will tell you that the dating methods are no where close to being exact. Both sides have the same evidence, I happen to support the biblical view. Regardless, I respect your opinion and I enjoy talking / chatting / venting / etc. with you on these types of issues.
Some people feel like a nut.....some don't....
