I don't know if any of you are following the Duke rape scandal. You know the case in N.C. in which some members of the male lacrosse team have been accused of raping a black prostitute.

Well yesterday the players involved had their dna. come back as negative and now the DA of that town and state have asked that the case be dropped.

Could this entire bs. have been just been a made up farce, because the hooker may not have received what she thought she would have got as far as pay? Or do you think that the women involved may have been trying to inflame racial tensions in that area?

Its happened before, remember the rape case in New York. In which a black teenager claimed that she had been raped by a group of white males. In fact the rev. Al Sharpton, Jessse Jackson made a big ta do about this , and eventually it came out that the girl made up the entire thing.

LAX is a notoriously, for lack of a better adjective, WASPy intercollegiate sport. Wealth and privilege salt college coffers very heavily.

This was just another in a string poor judgments and bad press for the Duke Lacrosse team, which has been more than a handful over the last few years.

Sounds like a purging was long overdue.

BTW - the BEST Lacrosse player EVER was Jim Brown - University of Syracuse.

she is a student at a nearby university
and a dancer
but dancer does not necessarily equate to prostitute

I believe what the DA was saying is that prosecutors were securing Guilty verdicts from evidence LONG before DNA came into the evidentiary picture

The defense has real time video of her coming in looking disheveled, that plus the dna and these guys will walk. Not to say they are innocent, but you must prove their guilt.

I just watched an episode about this on Fox the Rev. Jessee Jackson is now involved. If it wasn't a racial issue before it will be in about 6 hours.

Just ran across the following and remembered seeing a hilarious lambasting of Ms. Grace on this case on The Daily Show not long ago, and wondered what she thinks about this:

Duke lacrosse prosecutor disbarred

The prosecutor in the Duke University lacrosse team rape case was disbarred Saturday for unethical conduct, and the chairman of the disciplinary committee blamed "political ambition" for his downfall.

Earlier Saturday, the panel of the North Carolina State Bar concluded that Durham County, North Carolina, District Attorney Mike Nifong violated more than a dozen ethics rules in prosecuting the case against the now-exonerated players.

"This matter has been a fiasco," said disciplinary committee chairman F. Lane Williamson. "It seems that at the root of it is self-deception arising out of self-interest.
