Need Help....Computer inept...

I need help..........
A few hours ago I found my 2 yr old banging away on my computer keys...Somehow he has managed to switch around the layout & color of my desktop. I have no idea how to fix it....
My icons on my desk top are really big..Anyone know how to get them back to normal size? Also the pages I visit on the Internet have larger font & the screen is so big I have to scroll across to read the whole page.
Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix it? I've been trying but I think I am digging myself into a deeper hole.
Soon I will be throwing this piece of S*** onto the street...
Thanks,
Melissa

Don't ask me!
Apparently I am really computer inept.
Did you try rebooting? That might get rid of the larger font in cyberspace issue, I get that here at work a lot...and go to your Start menu, go to 'settings' and then to 'control panel' and then to Display to change your background colours and fonts and icon sizes.

Try doing a right click on your screen...go to properties-settings-advanced and try a smaller dpi setting.....that "might" be it

I feel your pain!

When my son was five, I came out of our bedroom and found that he had pulled off EVERY SINGLE KEY from the keyboard of my Toshiba laptop we keep in the living room. It took me 45 minutes to find all the keys and 2 hours to put them back in. I didn't even find them all. (It was a B*TCH coming up with words that didn't have the letters "p" or "c" in them until the replacement keyboard came in!!!)

Short answer - if I were there, I could probably have your computer fixed for you in a heartbeat. If you want to set up a "gotomypc.com" trial account, I would be happy to log in to your computer and fix it for you! (But it would have to be tonight or tomorrow as I am leaving Thursday for Playa.)

I found out from being engaged to AND working with an IT guy that the "expert advice" is ...

"reboot". In other words - turn it off - wait a couple mins, turn it back on - and hope it fixes itself.

I usually call him and say "DOn;t tell me to freaking reboot - come up here and DO something"

but hey - it's worth a try to reboot...
