viva maya

Just got back from 2 weeks at the Viva Maya hotel in PDC. Out first time at this resort.
A wonderful experience for my wife and I and our two kids aged 10 and 12. I would highly recommend this AIC to anybody looking for a hotel that is by no means a 5 star but does many of the little things right.
Some highlights for my family where:
Kids club and staff/Nightly stage show/warm sea/playacar beach/great food/friendly staff/ cleanliness of hotel/hotel activities.
There were some minor inconviences that are worth noting.
My son got sick/lack of beach towels for the first few days/constant presence of time share staff. These were easily overcome and are just part of the Mexican experience.
Please Email me direct if you have any specific questions around the hotel or our thoughts on PDC.

I just returned from one week at Viva Maya and I would recommend this resort. Beautiful beach, nice rooms, good food, and a great location. PDC is only a short walk or cab ride. I'll be going back to Viva Maya sometime in the next few years. Actually, I'd like to go back now. It's a balmy +9 degrees here in KC Missouri right now.

Here's a few things I thought might help anyone going to Viva Maya: - don't waste your time with the nightly shows. We watched one show and the performers try really hard, but it's just awful. - Don't waste your time with the reservation resturants. The food at the dinner buffet is just as good as anything. - the exchange rate at the resort is the worst. The vendors in PDC all take US dollars so it's not worth exchanging at the resort. - don't spend the extra $ for an ocean view room. I lucked out and had a great ocean view, but another couple in my group wasn't as lucky. They couldn't hardly see the ocean and when they tried to change rooms, the resort staff wasn't very helpful. Save the money by getting a garden view and make the short walk to the beach.

Anyone can email me for additional info at mightyjhawk@yahoo.com.

Enjoy the trip!
