Don't forget a koozie to keep your beer cold while you lay on the beach. Even when you do excursions you may have the chance to throw back a cold beer. You can always drink them real fast but I still prefer a koozie I would also bring an extra pair of sunglasses. I put my extra pair in the night before but forgot to put in my regular pair. I guess thats why I needed the extra pair.

Do the Fat Cat!! And book it through the Forum BEFORE you leave (click on trip planning tab at top of page). Not only will you have a better chance at getting a spot on the day you want, you'll also get a free t-shirt for each ticket you book. The Fat Cat is a great way to spend a day! (and the Rum Punch is delish!!!)

Put sunscreen on your head if you are bald. A baseball cap has that section in back that is exposed; that area will get fried.

Heed all the advice on sunscreen!! Use it, and don't underestimate the sun, especially after a few cervesa's. Also the Mohito's at Playa Hemingway's were the best we found on 5th, but I'm sure other people have found great ones too.

And take out half your clothes, you won't need them (especially anything 'dressy') and take more money than you think you will need. Best tip I ever read on here.
Very good advice. I always take too many clothes. I admire the people that have the wisdom to pack in a carry on bag, and they have the confidence to know it will be all right.

Don't worry about it... even if you packed wrong! What's the worse that can happen in Playa?!! If you have some shorts, some flip flops, and your wallet, that's all you really need!

Ok if you're coming from the Manchester area you simply have to bring at least one can of Boddingtons! Por Favor!!!!!

There are good beers here but we do miss a creamy head

Sorry to break the bad news Mindbinder, but the Boddies brewery is no longer brewing in Manchester. Boddies is no longer the cream of Manc!
Rach, you're staying in an AI resort, right? Make sure you escape from the resort during your stay. And most importantly, have fun!

Can someone please tell me why you think you should not bring a lot of clothes? I'm not a clothes horse but last year when we went to Cancun we brought a set of clothes for each day plus 1 extra (just in case) plus 2 "nicer" sets (for sit down dinners at the nicer restaurants). We had our bathing suits on all day at the pool but needed clothes for afterwards when we went to dinner and the bars. The thought of putting those same clothes on after sweating in them, the sizzling fajitas at dinner permeating our clothes and not to mention the smoke smell in our clothes from the bars, turns us off. What did everyone do--did you use the laundry mat? I am curious. Maybe the thought is that a set for each day is sufficient--anyway, let me know.THANKS!
