All sounds like good advice. WTG what day are you booked for Fat Cat? We are booked for Thursday, May 11. We also plan to skydive on Tuesday (this is our third trip). Four days and counting.

I just got the email from my sister and she booked us for Wed the 10th on the Fat cat. The have skydived in S. Carolina and they loved it....I parasailed in Cancun one time and found out...I wasnt particularily fond of heights . So I will pretty much stick to the ground sports . I am excited to explore downtown Playa and hang out on the beach .
Hope you have a great trip!

I always bring a small and large fanny pack for sunscreen and other stuff. Need very comfy shoes/flipflops as you will put on a lot O' miles each day. Hydrate more than you think you need. Have a killer time and don't be afraid to venture off of 5th for some fabulous food.

Thanks WTG and you guys do the same. We plan to taxi into town on Sunday and stumble our way back to our hotel stopping at the bars along 5th. We especially enjoy the LEON. BTW our poodle is a black toy we named Chewbaka.

We had our bathing suits on all day at the pool but needed clothes for afterwards when we went to dinner and the bars. The thought of putting those same clothes on after sweating in them, the sizzling fajitas at dinner permeating our clothes and not to mention the smoke smell in our clothes from the bars, turns us off. What did everyone do--did you use the laundry mat? I am curious. Maybe the thought is that a set for each day is sufficient--anyway, let me know.THANKS!
I guess the advice to take out (not OFF, Jacko ) was directed at overpackers, mainly.
I am a recovering overpacker- the first couple trips to Mexico I took a big rolly suitcase crammed with WAY too many clothes, and ended up only wearing about half of them.

I took about 5 bathing suits when 2 would do, way too many undies (you just wear your suit all day anyway! and now I take a small bottle of Zero to wash bathing suits and undies in a pinch), and I took about 5 pairs of shoes when two would do the trick-one pair sports sandals and one less casual pair to wear with sundresses and shorts.

For a two week trip I would pack about 20 shirts, now I take maybe 10 tees and tanks, and maybe 4 pairs of shorts and 4 skirts, and one sundress, instead of 10 of each - that type of thing.
Not to mention I like to shop for clothes while I am there too, so even less of a need to take too many.

I am sure to many people, I'd still be considered an overpacker, but that is okay. I still come home with a couple unworn shirts usually, but find I wear most of the clothes I take now- when it doubt, take it out!

I've always been an overpacker, but I really don't want to do that this time, so I'm going to heed all this advice and my goal is to get everything into my carry-on (?).
Wish me luck.
