Welcome to the club... it's only

70's here in Birmingham, Alabama as well -- and that's hard to get used to after 90's and no clouds all last week in Playa!!

How warm is the water this time of year? Our sea is 25 - 27 C in summer months, of course , will it be sth like that in Playa?

I was there in March and April, swam every morning just after sunrise (works great for a hangover) and it was perfect!
Not sure about the temp, must be a few degrees warmer now though.

Here's a reply from a previous similar question:
Water temperatures vary little from the mid 80's April through September...to the upper 70's in the winter months.

Click HERE to see temps for the Gulf of Mexico for Nov. 11th....To help, land masses are shaded grey. Looks to be either side of 80 for the PDC and Riviera Maya coast...

This information comes from a nice water temperature site originally linked to by our forum goddess, denisea ... Click HERE for that site and information provided by Rutgers University Marine and Coastal Sciences.

A month ago, my dive-buddy's divecomputer said it was 27 C.
It might be a degree or so warmer now, but as far as I know the water temperature is pretty consistent throughout the year.

It's colder in the winter (er obviously) although you still don't need to wear a jumper.
