Hi, we were staying at Riu Playacar in August, it is about a five minute walk away from that Riu, (going towards town). It looks spectacular to say the least. It will no doubt overshadow any hotel still standing in Playa. As I have just visited Mexico, I will wait a few years before returning but that would be the place to go for sure.
