And, Now there are 6
This probably belongs in the News and Gossip section, but I only have Jimmy Olson powers. Maybe "Clark Kent" Mindbender can move it :p (not too bitter, am I?
).There is now a new entrance into Playa from the Highway. The police have put in a light at Calle 34 (next to Boxito) and construction workers have knocked out the median. Should be open this weekend, by the looks of things. The good news is that this will take some of the pressure off of Constituyentes and allow people who live in the northern part of town, easier access. The bad news is that, what was once a two-stoplight stretch of highway, now boasts six. My commuting time has doubled from 5 to 10 minutes . Say what you want about politicians, but it seems that the mayor of Playa is keeping to his word regarding the paving of streets and like activities. I have recently seen some of Colosio go from dust to nice, black tarmac. You can actually drive on these streets without having to worry about your car disappearing in a sink hole. |

I would move it (when I've figured out how) but my powers seem to have been limited to just seeing the special tool icons in the news section itself.
By the way: Juarez is also progressing with its road and pavement facelift - including snazzy new street lights. Some property owners are also tarting up their shop fronts with a dab of paint. Amongst others, 10th Avenue has had a fresh layer of the black stuff too and the church's new walls are looking fine and dandy. Their development sign also boasts the addition of new towers stretching nearer to the almighty. |

I was impressed by the speed and quality of the repaving I've seen in Playa. They did our street (15th) at the end of March and completed several blocks in about a week. That's equal to or better than what you'd find in the states. Jaurez is a bigger problem because of the rerouting/improvement with the underground utilities.
